Music and the Pyramid Move Indoors

On Saturday, October 24, at 8:00 p.m., OPAH will perform a concert at Stevns Klint Experience—specifically in the Klintesalen.

In March, OPAH filmed two of their songs at the Pyramid while the building was still without a roof. The footage thus became the last record of that beautiful sight before restoration and work on the new roof began just a few days later.

This evening, OPAH will bring the footage inside to Stevns Klint Experience, where it will be woven into the concert experience via a large screen. In this way, the music, Pyramiden, and Stevns Klint Experience will come together in a truly special concert.

OPAH consists of three musicians: Hannah Sommer, Søren Vestergaard, and Johannes Gissel. The band is a new Danish musical project that emerged from a strong shared desire to create a creative space where ideas come together and music is born, regardless of current trends —but with full steam ahead on a strong artistic and aesthetic course.

OPAH describes their sound this way:

“We’ve thrown everything we collectively stand for into a giant melting pot, and from it you’ll hear elements of the indie scene’s playfulness, the unpredictability and quirkiness of alt. rock’s unpredictability and quirkiness, and not least the honesty found in the singer-songwriter genre. We want to come across as bold and honest, and our music should be able to embrace both the exploratory and the feeling of being right up close.”

Band member Johannes Gissel also has close ties to Stevns, where he has taught at the Stevns Music School for many years.

Har ud oplevet et klinteskred? Selv mærket klintens forandringer? Interesserer dig for Stevns Klints Geologi? Så kom og deltag i et borgermøde om Stevns Klint og landeskred, og del dine oplevelser. Det mest berømte skred ved Stevns Klint, er klart da Højerup Gamle Kirkes kor faldt i havet i 1928 – altså for snart 100 år siden. Men klinteskred er en almindelig og naturlig del af Stevns Klint, som har været med til at forme klinten og stadig gør det. Men hvor meget? Hvor ofte sker der større landskred og hvor? Og hvad er det der styrer, hvornår skreddene sker? Det undersøger GEUS i et nyt forskningsprojekt.

Mød op, oplev og del Mød specialestuderende Anton og Gustav fra Københavns Universitet og GEUS, som skriver om skred ved Stevns Klint. De anvender historiske kilder, postkort, satellitfotos og modeller, men de mangler DIN viden og oplevelser om klintens forandringer.

Seniorforsker og geolog Kristian Svennevig vil til arrangementet holde et kort oplæg om landskred, og der bliver serveret kaffe og kage.

GEUS: De Nationale Geologiske Undersøgelser for Danmark og Grønland (GEUS) er en selvstændig og uafhængig forsknings- og rådgivningsinstitution i Klima-, Energi- og Forsyningsministeriet. GEUS er geologisk datacenter og udfører undersøgelser, forskning, rådgivning og kortlægning.
