A programme for upper primary school – curiosity and immersion

Value in the World – A World Heritage course for upper primary school pupils

Pupils undertake an investigative study of the interplay between nature and humankind in the past, present and future, using Stevns Klint – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – as their starting point. The course links scientific knowledge of ecosystem services and sustainability with social studies perspectives on values, conflicting interests and humanity’s role in global development.
Pupils discuss how nature creates value for people, how values are prioritised within society, how people today impact the natural environment, and how sustainable development involves dilemmas and choices.
