Stevns Klint Experience is now launching its new educational programme, the Stevns Klint School Service. At a time when there is a strong focus within the education sector on creating space for personal development and deep engagement, the new school programme is specifically designed to promote open processes, sensory experiences and the children’s own voices, set directly against the backdrop of the World Heritage Site.
Following a successful trial period, Stevns Klint Experience is now launching its new, permanent school programme. The programme takes its inspiration from the distinctive landscape of the Boesdal Limestone Quarry and the exhibition at the visitor centre. Here, the traces of the fifth mass extinction – the catastrophe that, 66 million years ago, changed life on Earth forever – provide the backdrop for the presentation of a crucial chapter in the planet’s history. The launch also marks an important step in the strategic foundation for Stevns Klint Experience. The aim is to be the place where the significance of Stevns Klint in Earth’s history is brought together, made tangible and relevant to people, so that visitors leave with a new perspective, not just a definitive answer. The ambitious roll-out of the school programme is underpinned by a strong financial foundation. The project is supported by the A.P. Møller Foundation with 1.85 million kroner and the Augustinus Foundation with 1.85 million kroner as part of a three-year development and implementation project specifically designed to strengthen the communication of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Stevns Klint to children and young people.
